BIG RED BOX Christmas Hampers is a King's Church London initiative supporting those in the local community who might otherwise go without during the festive period.
Over the past six years, we have given away over 5000 boxes with 1760 hampers donated in 2016 alone. These were distributed to families and individuals in need across SE London through our charity & local authority partners. We are now focussing on Christmas 2017 and are getting store visits and packing dates lined up. Visit our Get Involved page to see how you can help out.
Each year, BIG RED BOX partners with supermarkets across SE London to collect food from their generous customers. In particular we are supported by Sainsbury's at their Sydenham, Charlton & Lee Green stores. We also have food collections at the Co-Op in Downham and are a Community Matters Charity at Waitrose, Beckenham.

Pick up a list or use the website and decide what you're going to get. You can buy one or a few items, get it all yourself, or you can join with others: family; friends; work colleagues; classmates; community group - you choose!
If you don't already have one, pick up a flat-pack Big Red Box (if you want to fill a whole one) and carefully place all the items inside. Boxes are available from King's Church London sites from Sunday 16th November.
You can give a complete box or simply bring in some items from the list that you would like to contribute. All items and boxes should be brought to any of the King's Church London sites on any Sunday before 14th December.
If you're not able to give a box in person, you can donate to us and we'll do your shopping for you!
You can either give by text, or by using our Just Giving page. For more details, go to the Donate page.

We'll only send you updates when Big Red Box is happening along with some feedback early in the New Year (Nov - Jan).
"Where are the places without hope? Let's take boxes to them and brighten them up." Volunteer (2013)
"We had a client in 2016 with no access to any funds, she had children and Big Red Box really helped them to be well fed! They were extremely grateful and said it made a huge difference to their Christmas." Voluntary Services Lewisham (2016)
This Christmas we will once again be running our Christmas hamper project after its successful launch in 2011. The Big Red Boxes collected will go to the neediest families in our local community.
We would love everyone to be involved in this. For some of us, it will simply be buying one item of food to go in a Big Red Box, for others it will be in buying the food for an entire box.
"This food will really be helpful for me and my children this Christmas"
"Thank you so much for all the wonderful food, it will make make my Christmas more happy" Families via Lewisham Refugee Network (2016)
